Abstract
Ready and able graduates are much more than subject knowledgeable, or equipped with transferable skills. Conference assessment events, using live briefs from researchers and external stakeholders, and that include industry representatives and academics in the assessment process; provide an empowering synergy of benefits to students. We will reflect on our experiences using this approach in assessing 3rd year Geographic Information Systems projects.
