Research Interests | My research is focused on investigating pathogen survival mechanisms including formation, management and treatment of biofilm associated infections. As part of this research we also investigate survival of pathogens 🦠using medical transport systems including transport systems such as swabs. For several years we have investigated how natural compounds can be utilised as alternative or complementary therapies e.g. essential oils. Alongside basic science and research, my group also is interested in social determinants of heath i.e. how can we use public health and science communication tools to inform health and reduce infectious diseases globally. I have a particular interest in Africa. |
