Abstract
Bibliometric analysis of scientific articles provides valuable information on the structure of both science and the selected areas (eg. supply chain management). The authors reviewed the publication in Materials Management and Logistics for the years 2010-2012 using bibliometric analysis tools. The purpose of the review was to identify areas of research in the field of supply chain management and to determine the content and structure. Aim of the study was carried out by analyzing the bibliometric database for 2010-2012 published articles (the English-language abstracts). Bibliometric analysis confirmed the high performance potential of supply chain management as an area of scientific and research activities. Despite the narrow time frame of the analysis in the study area was observed high variability subjects of articles (as well as research projects, the underlying). Some research areas have remained unchanged, and the number of published articles confirmed the continued interest of researchers defined issues (eg. transport processes within the supply chain). In some of the analyzed periods occurred more than average interest in part of the problem areas.
