Abstract
The primary aim of this paper is to investigate the effects of supply chain quality management (SCQM) practices on quality performance. Drawing on supply chain management and quality management literature we argue that quality performance is achieved through the interplay between and the synergistic effect of supply chain and quality management practices. Using a quantitative research approach based on data collected from a sample of UK-based manufacturing organisations, our findings confirm a convincing relationship between all dimensions of SCQM and hence the results offer empirical support to the theorisation and conceptualisation of SCQM.
