Mondragon Team Academy and LEINN Degree: From an educational revolution to a global social innovation inter-cooperation network

Abstract

This chapter studies Mondragon Team Academy (MTA) as a whole and the LEINN Degree, in particular, which started in 2008 in Mondragon University (MU) as a teampreneurship education revolution that aimed to reconnect with the MONDRAGON youth creating & learning capacity and serve youth in a glocal interconnected world. By September 2020, the LEINN degree is run in MTA social innovation team labs in 13 cities in 4 continents being MTA a world community of +2500 Teampreneurs (81% youth below 25 years old) creating their team companies & cooperatives. In a time of youth unemployment crises in Europe, 98% of LEINN graduates are working and 56% remain as entrepreneurs after two years off graduation. The chapter is organized combining five elements: introduces MTA Principles and key practices, describes the Historical journey of MTA and the different phases, analyses the academic structure of LEINN Degree and the MTA Falkon model, presents the results and metrics of MTA world until now, and ends sharing new frontiers where MTA will bloom in the following years.
