Abstract

“Entrepreneurship education was born in Genesis. We had no research, no theory, and, therefore, very few options for teaching entrepreneurship except hearing the war stories” (Neck et al., 2014, p.10).

This last book of a four-book series collates research and stories about the experiences of academics, team coaches and team entrepreneurs who have been driven by or worked with and through the Team Academy model of learning.

The reader will find narratives about university-based incubators, team coaches’ practices in the UK, or the entrepreneurial and team learning path of teachers’ teams in primary and secondary school settings in Finland. Besides, the book includes stories from alumni from TA programmes that explain how their experience was, and how it shaped their future careers. TZBZ for example is one of those team companies established in the TA programme of Mondragon University (LEINN), which still survives after 10 years as a cooperative enterprise. Among these stories, this book also reflects on how universities, institutions or organizations have adopted some of the elements of the TA methodology to inspire their practices in, for instance, creating an ecosystem for creative innovation and entrepreneurship in Japan or developing interventions with young entrepreneurs in Argentina. Sometimes the attempts to implement TA methods have turned impossible (i.e. Brazil) and the learning form these experiences tell us more about to what extent TA is replicable in other contexts.

This book therefore offers new insights to those engaged in developing entrepreneurial education from stories that show the diversity of approaches that exist around the world about how Team Academy inspired models of learning operate, and towards which settings TA may move in the future.
