Abstract
This paper is a content analysis of lyrics of songs on albums released by artists within the "Bro Country" genre from 2012 - 2017 to read for topics relating to deviant conduct, the presence of law and the outlaw. Analysis shows a questionable relationship with alcohol and low level criminal/anti-social behaviour. However, in contrast to rap music, the police play an almost invisible role and there is a general respect for authority.
