Abstract
This paper reports on a longtitudinal survey and analysis of photographs in the dedicated sports sections of three national newspapers in 2016. The survey shows that the narrative remains that sport is the province of white male athletes, and that whilst there is some equalisation of content during major events, outside these there is a lack of depiction of diversity.
