Abstract
In an era of digital oppression, by which I mean the digital regimes and systems of traceability and accountability that we now encounter everyday, the mask and masking of oneself takes on another meaning. It is within this context that the return of the mask can also be read, as a form of obfuscation, a symbolic act of protection and an act of privacy. I am interested in the role of symbolism within digital regimes, and the acts or states of mind that emerge as a result of them. It was from this context that the work UNDER NEW MOONS WE STAND STRONG emerged.
