The national context of assessment in higher education

Abstract

Assessment is an integral part of effective curriculum design and development within modules and across programmes. However, it is also influenced by the wider local, national and, to an extent, international education policy context. This chapter will explore some aspects of this wider context and consider the implications for learning, teaching and assessment practices.
