Abstract
This case study describes a programme of collaborative work facilitated by a national organisation. The scope, aims and outcomes are such, however, that a similar approach could be taken by colleagues locally (for example, through an educational development unit). Professional development for learning and teaching is facilitated through discussions and a programme of activity that take place within an academic department and around a key curriculum issue.
