Abstract
Site-specific installation. Working with John Gdula of Whitman Taxidermy, Hayes produced a large scale installation of 15 stuffed mallard ducks engineered to rotate within the single floor exhibition space. The extensive technical research required to rotate the artwork within the given space was sponsored by Weston Art Gallery (part of Aronoff Centre of Arts) Cincinnati, who invited Hayes to create FLOCK for the ground floor space.
The invitation resulted from previous events created by Hayes: 'The DIY Votive Experience' artist catalogue publication and the exhibition, 'staB' at Jeleni Gallery, CCA, Prague, Czech Republic, 2003. It led to an invitation to exhibit in 'Over The Top, Under The Rug' SICA, New Jersey, USA, 2005.
