Abstract
At the intersection of art, social injustice, and womanhood, The Art of Oppression'(2021), directed by Patricia Francis, is a documentary about resilience and hope. The film follows three women artists who use their art to articulate their experiences of belonging, identity trauma and loss. 'The Art of Oppression' is set within the context of social populism, patriarchy, and the debilitating legacy of colonialism.
