Abstract

When I Dare To Be Powerful Online Talk Series.

When I Dare to be Powerful International Conference brought filmmakers, artists, writers and activists together with conceptual thinkers and cultural theorists to answer pressing questions relating to 'voice' as an agent of change.

The conference period began on 26th April and ran through to the 21st June the date of the one-day international conference.

Additional Information Patricia was the Convenor of the conference. She secured funding and collaborated with a range of organisations including the New Art Exchange the UK’s largest gallery dedicated to contemporary visual arts from the Global Ethnic Majority, Bonington Gallery, the AHRC via the Midlands3Cities Doctoral Training programme and was also supported by Nottingham Trent University's Post-Colonial Studies Centre.

Patricia led the team of nine doctoral researchers in delivering a series of online talks and podcasts as well as a one-day international conference that responded to the conference theme of 'voice'.
