Dr Jen Pearson
Biography | I am a Clinical Academic Physiotherapist, and my research focuses on managing persistent pain in rheumatology, particularly fibromyalgia. I am a mixed-methods researcher with extensive experience in qualitative research. I have successfully led several research projects, including mapping the techniques used within the Fibromyalgia Self-Management Programme (FSMP) to facilitate behaviour change, and conducting a feasibility randomised controlled trial (RCT) of the FSMP in a community setting (FALCON). My current research focuses on using the Person-Based Approach to adapt the FSMP for online use. I am the Co-Chair of the Council for Allied Health Professions Research (CAHPR) in the South West of England. I actively foster research engagement and mentorship among Allied Health Professionals (AHPs), promoting collaboration, supporting research and academic career development, facilitating research delivery, and building research capacity. I have received funding from NHS England to identify under-recognised AHP groups and explore the barriers, enablers, and recommendations to maximise equitable research opportunities. |
