Biography Dr. Rubbaniy received his PhD from Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands and a masters in Economics and Finance from Tilburg University, the Netherlands. He also holds a masters in Statistics and is currently working as senior lecturer in finance at the Bristol Business School (BBS), University of the West of England. Prior to joining Bristol Business School, he also worked at Radboud University, the Netherlands, Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Dutch Central Bank, University of Central Punjab, Pakistan and Zayed University, United Arab Emirates. His teaching interests include (International) Corporate Finance, Managerial Finance, Financial Markets, Commercial and Islamic Banking, and Financial Derivatives. He has a rich experience of supervising research theses of research master and PhD students. With specific focus on pensions and ageing, his research interests include Financial Markets, Behavioral Finance, Banking and Corporate Finance. He presented his research work at major finance conferences and published in leading finance journals including – but not limited to - The Financial Review, European Journal of Finance, Quantitative Finance, International Journal of Finance and Economics, Journal of Financial Research, Journal of Commodity markets, Economics Letters, Journal of Environmental Management, International Journal of Managerial Finance, Economic Modelling, , Research in International Business and Finance, Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, Journal of Cleaner Production and Resources policy.

Dr. Rubbaniy has been the ad-hoc reviewer of many esteemed finance journals and has secured many national and international research funding grants. He possesses expertise in curriculum design and AoL processes, and has also been extensively involved in teaching CFA modules.

Currently at BBS, Dr. Rubbaniy is involved in teaching at both undergraduate and master levels. He is the programme leader of MSc Finance and Investment and module leader of a few masters level modules.
