Abstract
Researchers at UWE Bristol (UK) needed ways of communicating drought and were struggling to find an in-road as drought seems ‘low risk’ in the UK. Using Story Maps to develop conversation pieces was recognised as way forward. Students were given the chance to pursue projects as part of their assessment which addressed this. This approach benefits both groups; staff developed skills and received valuable research outputs while students were stretched and undertook real-world projects.
