Biography Tariq has completed Ph.D. from London South Bank University, UK, and registered as a Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng) with Engineering Council UK. He is also a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE). He has more than 18 years of international experience involving different positions in academia and industry. Tariq has published more than 90 research papers in the area of civil engineering, construction management, renewable energy, engineering sustainability, construction materials, waste and resource management, construction Technology, STEM Higher Education and Profession published in reputed journals including Materials (IF 3.748), Buildings (IF 3.10), Applied Sciences (IF 2.838), Engineering, Construction and Architectural Management (3.850), Safety Science (IF 6.392), Municipal Engineer (Scopus: 2.0), Management, Procurement and Law (Scopus: 1.60), Engineering Sustainability (WoS: 1.063), Water (IF 3.530) and Energy (WoS: 1.035). He has secured more than £ 6 Million funding from different national/ international funding agencies. He frequently reviews funding applications for EPSRC, ESRC, MTR Academy Hong Kong, British Council, The Research Council of Oman, Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, and Qatar National Research Fund. Prior to joining UWE, he was working in Kingston University and before that he was working in Oman where he had served a Higher Education Institution for more than eight years. Tariq is an approved mentor of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE, UK) and helping graduate engineers to become professionally qualified engineers. He is a member of Green Construction Borad in Construction leadership Council. He is also a reviewer for the ICE membership, professional registration, and End Point Assessor. Tariq is also serving as member of the editorial board/advisor and a reviewer for several journals and renowned conferences including Advances in Civil Engineering, Frontiers in Built Environment, PLOS ONE, Buildings, Civil Engineering, Sustainability, International Journal of Strategic Decision Sciences, and International Journal of Responsible Leadership and Ethical Decision-Making. He is STEM ambassador and organize events to motivate young people particularly women in STEM. As a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Oman committee, he help in organizing students and graduate competitions, learning events and deliver invited talks.

Tariq is available for PhD supervision in the areas of Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Materials, Engineering Sustainability, Renewable Energy, Waste and Resource Management, and Construction 4.0.
