Dr. Danny Elvidge
Biography | In my role of Senior Lecturer in Building Physics & Services for the School of Architecture and the Environment at UWE, I'm a Programme Leader for both the Building Services Engineering and Architecture & Environmental Engineering degrees. My main role is to provide expertise and support to students studying architectural acoustics as well as building physics, construction materials, building services, and sustainable design engineering. After completing my PhD I've worked as a Senior Scientist for the UK Government, and as physics teacher, before starting my career in Architecture and Construction. I teach many aspects building physics and services, but my speciality is architectural acoustics and vibration control in buildings. I'm currently Module Leader for "Environmental Physics & Materials" and "Mechanical Services", "Glass & Glazing" and "Façade Materials & Components" and teach on a range of other modules. My research interests are architectural and services acoustics and pedagogical theory and I have a particular interest in student mental health and wellbeing. |
