Dr Kola Yusuff
Research Interests | My research interests include understanding how digital technologies (such as AI, big data analytics, digital platforms, Internet, search engines) affect people, world of work, and societies, with specific focus on issues of accountability, governance, human and worker rights. My research interests also include understanding how language is used in leading and organising within organisational and societal settings, drawing insights from social theories (such as the work of Harold Garfinkel and Ervin Goffman), and empirical materials obtainable from naturally occurring social (inter)actions. In my current project, I am exploring gig workers' experiences of algorithmic control, risk and precarity, and the ongoing efforts at regulating the gig economy in Europe and Africa. I am interested in supervising and collaborating on research projects that involve analysing: Ethics and socio-political implications of digital technologies for people, organisations and societies. Changes in the world of work brought about by the new digital technologies How language is used in leading and organising within organisational and societal settings. |
