Abstract

This presentation evaluates the service improvements in UK end of life care following publication of the National End of Life Care Strategy (2008). The historical development of palliative and end of life care is considered alongside the current developments striving to provide end of life care for all. Some of the real challenges are discussed and there is opportunity for discussion with delegates to reflect on the European context of end of life care.
