New directions in colour printing in the 21st century

Abstract

To celebrate the publication of their new book, 'Colour Design: Theories and Applications', The Colour Group of GB is proud to work with Woodhead Publishing to mount a one-day symposium on colour.

Dr Carinna Parraman was invited to contribute a chapter to this important book which summarises the wealth of recent research on colour and its use in design. The book reviews research on colour and its perception, covering: hardcopy colour: analogue versus digital, colour theory in relation to printing, An overview of halftoning and digital print technologies, ways of measuring and describing colour and discusses the role of colour in design, dyeing and printing. The book also explores applications of colour in areas as diverse as fashion, interior design, art and food.
