Redistributed Manufacturing (RDM) in healthcare – a new business paradigm?

Abstract

We present the findings of a large-scale, collaborative project investigating RDM in healthcare. New technologies, small-scale flexible manufacturing equipment and novel manufacturing processes are driving the development of new business models and supply chains, changing dynamics of work and communities, and have immediate implications for OM theory and practice.
