Touch: Reflections on handling but not touching during the making process
Jorgensen, Tavs
Authors
Abstract
The presentation provides reflections on an ongoing research enquiry which explores the clay extrusion process. A particular challenge in the project is the handling of the soft extruded shapes. The presentation outlines the challenges of minimising touching and discusses particular notions of craft practice where direct touching of the artifact is done through tools rather than hands.
