The value of cross-sector dialogue within tertiary education: Lessons from QAA Scotland’s June 2024 Symposium
Fisher, Gary F.; Ma, Zheng Feei
Abstract
On 11th June, we attended a symposium in Glasgow hosted by QAA Scotland, titled ‘Addressing the Anxiety of Assessment in an AI World’. The event explored the landscape of assessment in tertiary education, featuring talks, workshops, and keynote addresses on topics such as generative AI’s role in enhancing assessment practices, promoting student reflection, and supporting grading and feedback. A significant highlight of the event was not just the quality of the discussion, but also the diverse professional contexts of the participants of that discussion.
