Professional enablers and the facilitation of mortgage fraud
Gilbert, Jonathan
Authors
Abstract
To understand the facilitating role of professional enablers in financial crime a deeper examination is needed to identify the extent by which their actions, whether directly complicit or through contrived ignorance, supports the commission and ultimately the reproduction of financial crime.
Here, Jonathan Gilbert through case study analysis and auto-ethnography identifies the facilitating role of a solicitor-enabler in a large multi-million-pound mortgage fraud.
