Abstract
Abstract: Globally, science remains exclusive and inequalities continue for minoritised communities in the UK, US and across the world. Access to learning resources, quality of learning experiences and graduate outcomes continues to impact minoritised communities negatively. A current challenge in the UK higher education sector and in the biosciences discipline is the degree awarding gap between White students and their counterparts from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic background. Addressing the awarding gap remains a priority however understanding the underlying factors causing these gaps will enable more effective and sustainable approaches to reducing these barriers and promoting an inclusive culture in the biosciences.
