Abstract

For many of us, the word ‘simulation’ conjures up distant memories of OSCE day nerves from our time as students and nostalgia from interview assessments of the past when a dishevelled mannequin was presented to us having been rigged to resemble someone in cardiac arrest. Right? Few of us will have been fortunate enough to endure completely immersive and dynamic training scenarios and thus, simulation will likely represent little more than a basis assessment modality we learnt to accept and embrace. However, this years’ graduates at the University of the West of England, Bristol have been subjected to a simulation experience on another level and will therefore tell a very different story.
