Abstract

This is the first of two special issues of Feminism & Psychology focusing on marriage. Significant portions of the special issues are two special features (edited by Sara-Jane Finlay and Victoria Clarke) that consider the personal and political experiences of heterosexual feminists (and their male partners) and lesbians and gay men in relation to marriage. This issue contains a special feature entitled ‘A Marriage of Inconvenience’ that explores the personal experience of marriage for heterosexual feminists and their partners. The next issue (February 2004) contains the special feature, ‘For Better or Worse’, focusing on
debates around, and experiences of, marriage for lesbians and gay men.
