Additional Information | Additional Information : Invited residency and conference papers. Bodman was invited due to her editorial work on The Artist's Book Yearbook. This led to the funded trip to Australia to speak at the conference and then travel on to Southern Cross University, where she had been requested as the resident artist, to spend 2.5 weeks producing a new artist's book Against Nature (www.bookarts.uwe.ac.uk/scures.htm). This period of study generated the following research outputs: a radio interview with ABC North Coast NSW (Lismore, 07/03/2006 - 03:33 PM); journal articles: Artists' Books in Australia for Umbrella Online (USA) Volume 29, No. 1, March 2006, ISSN 0610-0699; Focus on Artists' Books 3 for The Art Book (UK/USA) August 2006 Volume 13 Issue 3, pp 64-65, ISSN 1368 6267. As a result of her work in Australia Bodman was also invited to contribute to Interaction 2006: A Seminar Exploring the Artist's Book, Noosa Gallery, Tewantan, Australia, 22 September 2006, for a debate: Why are artists' books not accepted by art institutions? (www.bookarts.uwe.ac.uk/noosa06.htm) She was also invited to send an exhibition set of Bookmarks IV with the work of 61 artists for the Books 06 exhibition September�October 2006. A critique by Jan Davis and Murray Patterson, �Sarah Bodman: Of A Mischievous Nature', appeared in Imprint, The Quarterly Journal of The Print Council Australia, Volume 41 No. 3, September 2006, pp 14-15, ISSN 0313-3907 Against Nature was produced in an edition of 8, and is in the following collections: Southern Cross University, NSW, Australia; Joan Flasch Artists' Books Collection, Chicago, USA, Museum van het boek/Museum Meermanno The Netherlands; Winchester School of Art Library; Tate Britain and private collections in Australia and UK. |
