Abstract

In this article we share our experiences of setting up and running Systemic Consultations within in a community specialist learning disability service. We have reflected on what we see as the challenges and successes of our endeavour. Successes have included introducing new ways of working, complementing alternative intervention approaches and efficient use of resources. Some of the challenges have been ethical dilemmas in terms of the domain in which we work, considering the suitability of the Systemic approach and measuring change and outcomes. The article concludes with recommendations we aim to take on as a service.
