Abstract
This paper and presentation concern the development of new methods with ceramic profile extrusion with the aim of expanding the creative exploration of architectural ceramic components. The project has established fast tooling workflows for the creation of extrusion dies via 3D printing and also resulted in the creation of a concept for a low-cost extrusion machine.
The paper will outline how the system is now being tested through collaboration with artist Sarah Fraser who works with local communities to record individual journeys within the public space. The aim is to visualize these journey lines in the urban environment through the production of extruded ceramic coping stones.
