One in five people have an appearance that is considered 'different' to the normal population. This can have a profound impact on the lives of those affected and their families and partners. Nicola Stock, Research Associate at the Centre for Appearance Research explores the challenges associated with disfigurement and stresses the importance of focusing on positive attributes and relationships
