Abstract
As part of the Wellcome Trust-funded UPSTREAM project, a systematic review compiled evidence investigating the impact on health and wellbeing of five thematic areas of urban development design: transport, buildings, food, natural environment, and neighbourhood design. Findings provide the foundations for an evidence-based, economic valuation of health impacts related to different features of the built environment, which can be used to support decision-making.
