Dillon, Teresa
Authors
Abstract
This article draws on repair practices within the arts, media and academia. Taking Mierle Laderman Ukeles, MANIFESTO FOR MAINTENANCE ART 1969! as a starting point the paper discusses what Schulz (2017) has referred to as the ‘turn’ towards repair. Emphasises is placed on artistic practices which engage with ideas of breakdown, glitch, repair and maintenance exploring how such art practice make visible the centrality of repair and maintenance in the continuation of our sociotechnical lives.
