Representation of slave trade legacy in the popular culture of Bristol

Abstract
In this talk I highlight how different people in the city of Bristol have responded to and made things in relation to the city's slave trade history. From a slavery tour, art works, animation and exhibitions, over the years Bristol citizens have sought to fill the gaps in silence by making interventions and putting them in the public domain. This talk is illustrated using a range of video clips from media projects I have been involved with over the years, my own contribution to the representation of slave trade history in the Bristol narrative.
