Abstract
Family interventions have been shown to reduce the likelihood of relapse for individuals across the spectrum of psychosis and are recommended internationally in practice guidelines for psychosis. Multifamily therapy after a psychotic episode is a flexible and interactive approach which increases crises prevention. In Greece, the Athens Multifamily Group Therapy program (A-MFGT) provides systemic multifamily therapy to young adults and their families after the first psychotic episode, as an early intervention program. Despite the emerging use of Internet Communication Technologies in e-mental health care, there is a paucity of literature exploring the viability of multifamily systemic therapy in an online setting. The present chapter aims to describe the unique characteristics of the online A-MFGT program, the feedback provided by participants in various phases of the program, main themes, and meanings which emerged from the qualitative analysis of this material, reflections on conducting the online multifamily therapy groups and their evaluation will be discussed.
