Abstract

The paper analyses two generations’ experiences of being Black in Britain comparing the social and political contexts that determined their life chances. Both generations experienced early adulthood with a Conservative government in power, an unstable economy and articulated their frustration and socio-cultural British experience through the act of uprisings.
