Additional Information Additional Information : The International Contemporary Vitreous Enamel Archive (ISBN 978-0-9547025-9-5) consolidates the research achieved during Turrell's three year AHRC Fellowship in Print on Enamel, which investigated contemporary vitreous enamel and contributed to the critical awareness of the medium through commission, exhibition and textual dissemination. Following further funding by the AHRC the archive has been expanded to become an international resource, which provides a critical overview of contemporary enamel and a body of reference material that will foster critical dialogue and give a context for study and research in enamel. During its development four international established advisors were consulted. The archive was presented at the SNAG conference (Society of North American Goldsmiths) in 2005. Turrell was invited to SNAG as a result of being an artist selected for publication (1 of 40 artists out of over 300 juried selection) in Metalsmith 2003, and being a leading figure in enamel on metal. The exhibition Enamel Beyond the Object (toured to Kunstverein, Coburg, and Museum voor vlakglas en emaillekunst Ravenstein, Holland) was a further selection from the Metalsmith article Artists Exhibition in Print. Turrell was commissioned to produce the installation Markers of Conflict, 23 June 5 August 2006 concurrent with SNAG. A paper on the archive: 'Digital Print Technologies and their relation to Vitreous Enamel on Metal for the Visual Artist.' was presented at IS&T NIP22 Conference Denver, Colorado in September 2006. As a result of this work Turrell has been invited to exhibit April August 2008 in the exhibition Landscape of Desire at Museum of Flatglass and Enamel, Holland. Turrell has presented international master classes at SNAG, Haystack and Metal/Enamel Dept at Kent State University / Arrowmont School of Arts Crafts, USA.
