Abstract
For generations of readers, the Adventures of Asterix series by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo is the reason why some jokes are only funny in Latin. But, unfortunately, all is not well in the little village we know so well, because the Copyright Amendment Bill is still with us. There is little point in carrying on about the demerits of this Bill, because it seems we are speaking different languages when it comes to what copyright is. It is about language, specifically translation, and fair use, that this rumination is concerned.
