Talent coaching: Specificities and challenges

Abstract

Coaching is widely used in talent management programmes, and often identified as one of the most effective interventions for career and leadership development. But what are the specificities of talent coaching compared with other helping interventions such as executive, managerial coaching and mentoring? What are the factors of successful talent coaching relationship?
In this workshop, we explored the skills, knowledge, and behaviours for effective talent coaching. We will also reflect on the meaning of ‘talent’, and the ethical challenges involved in talent coaching.
