Hybrid texts and academic authority: The wager in creative practice research

Abstract

Drawing on post-Jungian psychology, feminist theory and the work of Paul Ricoeur this chapter draws on the Sowdun Project to deconstruct some of the underlying presuppositions on which the usual reading of the tensions between academic authority and 'art as research' are based. The book represents a collection of papers by artists, philosophers, art historians and cultural theorists on the issue of practice-led doctoral research.
