Additional Information | Additional Information : The Communication of Leadership: The Design of Leadership Style (2007). This monograph extends the work of the previous two by integrating verbal with non-verbal communication in an analysis of the communication strategies of six non-western leaders. Based around the unifying theme of charisma, it proposes that leadership style is the cumulative interaction of non-verbal modes with verbal strategies for communicating legitimacy. It presents a model in which leaders - like actors - use metaphors and symbols to satisfy followers' psychological and symbolic needs. The monograph forms part of Routledge's prestigious Studies in Linguistics series. |
