Dr Austin Nwafor
Biography | I am a Lecturer in Law at Bristol Law School, University of West of England, Bristol. My research and teaching focus on the areas of private & business law, international commercial law broadly conceived and ocean /plastics pollution governance. Before joining Bristol Law School, I rose through the ranks to become an Associate Professor (Reader) and former Associate Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN). I was also an Adjunct Associate Professor at Renaissance University Nigeria. I earned both LLM and PhD in international commercial law from Glasgow Caledonian University and the University of Stirling Scotland UK respectively, and LLB from the University of Uyo, Nigeria. I have attended study visits to institutions like the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the International Criminal Court (ICC) both at the Hague Netherlands, the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg and the European Union Headquarters in Brussels Belgium. I have been awarded a number of prestigious fellowships like the International Ocean Institute Fellowship (IOI Canada) (2018) and the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) Blue Charter Fellowship (2020) and (2021). I am a member of Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) and a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. |
