Occasional Associate Lecturer - CHSS - HSW
Professor Shea Palmer, 6 March 2013 - Aches, pains and strains associated with muscles, bones and joints are some of the main reasons why people see health practitioners. Musculoskeletal conditions affect all of us at some stage of our lives and we have a long history of researching and treating them. Yet they still present major challenges to patients and clinicians in terms of being able to manage them effectively.
This lecture explored some of the challenges faced by patients, clinicians and researchers in assessing, diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal disorders. Professor Palmer used examples of research to illustrate the complexities and how we might attempt to make sense of them.
