During the height of the Global Financial Crisis, and whilst leader of the Conservative party, David Cameron boldly proclaimed that the City of London faced a ‘Day of Reckoning’ and that severe penalties would be imposed for those bankers whose reckless activities caused the Global Financial Crisis. This article reviews this statement in light of the enforcement activities since the 2010 General Election
