Abstract
Scars are part of life; they show where we have been and can be a reminder of our strength. However,
sometimes they can be an all too powerful reminder of pain and suffering. When someone is dissatisfied
with the appearance of their scar, covering it with a tattoo can help them to feel more confident.
Jennifer Heath explores the use of decorative and medical tattooing to disguise unwanted scars.
