Abstract
Report on the Curating Activism Project, funded through the Digital R&D Fund for the Arts (supported by Nesta, the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the National Lottery through the Arts Council).
KWMC and partners ran a phased ‘Curating Activism in Communities’ programme with young people, who experimented with live and open data through creative projects that focused on the community of Knowle West. The research question was: Can arts organisations engage young people in creative data projects to reach new audiences?
The project demonstrated that data projects are a creative way for organisations to support young people in their skills development and in undertaking community engagement.
