Abstract
This chapter is aimed at those new to research at Masters level with specific reference to geography teachers and those researching in the field of geography education.
It describes the importance of this crucial stage in the research process and provides practical advice for making decisions about research questions, methodology, methods and how to ensure conceptual clarity in a proposal.
