Different communities have different dementia related needs and should not be treated as a single homogenous grouping.
• The numbers of people from BAME communities who are affected by dementia will increase more rapidly than those of the white community.
• Within some BAME communities, different understandings of dementia, ageing and caregiving may act as barriers that prevent people coming forward to seek help.
• Psychological services need to be culturally appropriate
